This sort of dog derived its name from their place of origin which is the Yorkshire, Britain . Yorkie dogs first made their way to America in the late 1800s but it was only till the early 1900s that Yorkshire Terrier made its exclusive name because there were such a lot of different sizes. It was in this time that most dog fans like smaller sized Yorkshire Terrier.

Though it falls into the class of a toy dog, this breed is a bold, assured and bold animal.

Their behaviour towards others alter. Just like other small sized dogs, they are always outgoing, fervent for fun and journey but they’re often a bit assertive and detached towards other tiny animals and weird canines. That old rough-edged terrier spirit still lingers on.

Dogs need lots of exercise without regard for the breed. For Yorkshire Terriers, exercise is not troublesome because they stay physically fit by running round the house or little residence. But this doesn’t mean that they should stay inside all of the time. In fact they can also enjoy and appreciate going out for a brisk stroll with their owner from time to time. Just make sure the dog’s safety by walking on a leash to avoid issues with other tiny animals. Though they may enjoy going outside to take a hike, they’re not designed to live out of doors. Just like every other toy dogs, Yorkshire Terriers likes the friendship and heat of its family and human contact.

If Yorkie dogs actually must be left outside, this should be done for a brief period of time. And just ensure that cosy and satisfactory shelter and bedding is provided for them to use. Yorkshire Terriers grow extremely long hair but they don’t shed as much as other short-haired breeds do. Grooming wants rely on the style of the hair. 3 to 4 times per week of exhaustive brushing is what trimmed pets required while frequent grooming is required for those with untrimmed long hair in order that it doesn’t tangle and mat. The life span of a Yorkshire Terrier is up to sixteen years provided it is living a healthful way of life in a positive environment, with its health minded and caring dog owner. Though there is not any major health concern that will affect Yorkie dogs, they’re still at the mercy of other minor health concerns like patellar luxation.

It is always best to find your vet’s help and have your Yorkie dogs particularly tested for eye issues, knee dysplasia and have a liver ultrasound.
